The people behind the counter

Meet the Team

Warren Exchange may be known for unexpected treasures, but the people behind the counter are what make the shop special. Our small, wonderfully eclectic team brings curiosity, experience, humor and genuine care to every item - and every person - who walks through our door in Warren, Rhode Island.

Walk-ins welcomed during regular business hours. Appointments available for dedicated time with Tara.

Bring us the whole box - Tara loves a treasure hunt.

Tara

Founder & Treasure Hunter

Tara is the founder and friendly face of Warren Exchange. When you visit the shop, she will be there to greet you, listen to the story behind your belongings and help uncover what they may be worth.

Since opening the shop in 2009, Tara has examined an extraordinary assortment of jewelry, coins, antiques, collectibles and wonderfully unexpected treasures. Along the way, she has built a trusted network of specialists across many fields. She may not recognize every mystery item immediately - but if she does not know the answer, chances are she knows an expert who will.

Fun fact

Before founding Warren Exchange, Tara wrote and directed a feature-length documentary.

Sharon, Warren Exchange's Den Mother, researcher and Whatnot host.

Sharon

"Den Mother," Researcher & Whatnot Host

Sharon has been part of Warren Exchange since 2020 and proudly serves as our "Den Mother" and chief bottle washer. She sorts, organizes and researches antique jewelry and collectible treasures, manages online listings, hosts live Whatnot shows and steps in wherever an extra set of hands is needed.

Sharon enjoys the constant variety, but what she values most is being part of a business where customers - and the belongings they entrust to us - are treated with honesty, patience, care and respect. As Sharon will tell you, there is never a dull moment at Warren Exchange.

Fun fact

When asked how many Grateful Dead shows she has attended, Sharon replied, "I stopped counting around 75."

Zaza, Warren Exchange Whatnot host and coin enthusiast, seated with the pyramids behind him.

Zaza

Whatnot Host & Coin Enthusiast

Zaza may be the youngest member of the Warren Exchange team - but he just might be the most mature. Before joining us, he had visited the shop several times to buy and sell precious metals.

Later, while browsing shows on Whatnot, Zaza recognized Zippy's picture and found Warren Exchange online. He officially joined the team in January 2026 and has been hosting live shows ever since. Zaza enjoys connecting with viewers, examining interesting pieces and expanding his knowledge of coins every day. His curiosity and enthusiasm make him a natural fit for the Warren Exchange treasure hunt.

Fun fact

Zaza was born and raised in Egypt.

April, Warren Exchange's antique mall manager and behind-the-scenes organizer.

April

Antique Mall Manager & Behind-the-Scenes Organizer

April left the corporate world in 2014 to become a stay-at-home mom. These days, she also plays an important behind-the-scenes role at Warren Exchange.

April cleans, sorts and organizes the wide variety of merchandise passing through the business. She also manages our off-site antique mall booths, keeping them stocked, organized and looking their best. Dependable, detail-oriented and always willing to jump in wherever she is needed, April helps keep Warren Exchange's many moving parts running smoothly - even when the latest treasure-filled box has taken over the room.

Fun fact

April is a military kid who grew up in seven different states.

Kevin the Fireman's locker at the Warren fire station.

Kevin "The Fireman"

World Coin Specialist & Whatnot Host

Kevin's Warren Exchange story began when he was an 11-year-old customer happily searching through bowls of foreign coins. That early curiosity grew into a deep passion and impressive expertise. Today, "Kevin the Fireman" specializes in world coins and precious-metal coins, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm during live Whatnot shows on our secondary channel, "Unda Spot."

Kevin's community spirit extends well beyond coin collecting. He volunteers as a firefighter at the Warren fire station and loves connecting with viewers, discussing coins and showcasing the pieces that spark their interest. An Eagle Scout and practicing speech pathologist, he brings warmth, curiosity and a natural gift for communication to every broadcast.

Fun fact

Kevin was born on Christmas Day in 2000 - the final Christmas of the second millennium.

Randy 'Da Mayor' with his bicycle.

Randy "Da Mayor"

Volunteer & Shop Ambassador

Randy wandered into the shop during our very first Warren Walkabout - and never left. Now a Warren Exchange volunteer, he is always ready to lend a hand, share a story or greet someone he knows, which is usually everyone.

Affectionately known as "Da Mayor," Randy is a wealth of knowledge about bikes and sports. He is also an avid autograph collector who spends his free time writing letters to retired sports figures and asking them to add their signatures to his ever-growing collection. When Randy is not holding court at the shop, you may spot him pedaling around town with his cat, Swayman.

Fun fact

Swayman is named for Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman. Did we mention Randy is a big Bruins fan?

Meet Our Mascots

Not every member of the Warren Exchange family sorts jewelry, studies coins or hosts a Whatnot show. Some specialize in welcoming customers, posing for pictures, supervising the staff - and occasionally chewing the merchandise.

Zippy, Warren Exchange's space-monkey mascot, standing by the front door.
Welcoming treasure hunters since 2010.

Zippy

Official Space Monkey & Front-Door Greeter

Some people think he wandered in from Planet of the Apes - but we do not monkey around with copyright. This is Zippy, Warren Exchange's very own space monkey.

Zippy landed at the shop in 2010 and has been part of the family ever since. Standing proudly near the front door, he welcomes customers, poses for pictures and keeps watch over the treasures passing through the shop.

Fun fact

Zippy perfectly represents Tara's favorite saying: "We buy and sell everything - we're just the monkey in the middle!"

Dilly, Warren Exchange's rescue dog, with a sticker on his face.
Yes, that is a Hot Labels sticker on his face.

Dilly

Satellite Shop Supervisor

Dilly comes from Rhode Home Rescue and is the official dog of Warren Exchange's satellite location, where he supervises the team, keeps everyone company and occasionally creates a little extra work.

Sometimes Dilly gets into things he should not - and he has even been known to chew on a coin or two. When that happens, the slightly "customized" coin becomes our Dilly Discount Deal of the Day and is offered at a special price to our Whatnot customers. Around here, even Dilly's mischief can turn into a deal.

Fun fact

His foster family named him Dill. We considered renaming him Stanley Roper, from Three's Company, but he was already attached to Dilly.
