Bring the whole box

We Buy Sterling Silver & Silver-Plated Flatware

Bring the whole box. You do not need to sort it, polish it, or figure out what is sterling first. We buy both sterling silver and silver plate - and we take the time to go through everything.

Walk-ins welcomed during regular business hours. Appointments available for dedicated time with Tara.

Mixed sterling silver and silver-plated serving pieces brought to Warren Exchange.

One Box. Two Teapots. One Was Worth $3. The Other Was Worth $600.

That is exactly why you should bring everything in.

Years ago, families often stored sterling silver right alongside silver-plated pieces - just as real gold jewelry was sometimes mixed in with costume jewelry. After decades in a drawer, cabinet, basement, or inherited box, it can be difficult to tell the difference by sight alone.

At Warren Exchange, we check each piece. If sterling is hiding in the pile, we separate it and pay you for it as sterling. The difference in value can be significant.

Can You Spot the $600 Teapot?

These two teapots arrived together. They both looked old. They both looked silver. One was silver plate and worth about $3. The other was sterling silver and worth about $600.

Looks can be deceiving. Hallmarks, construction, weight, and testing tell the real story.

Do not guess. Do not throw it away. Do not sell the entire box as silver plate without having every piece checked.

We have seen sterling serving pieces tucked into silver-plated sets, mismatched sterling forks added to everyday flatware, and valuable pieces hiding under years of tarnish. Bring it all in and let us do the sorting.

These figures are the story of these two pieces, not a promise of what another customer's items will be worth. Final value depends on metal content, weight, maker, condition, completeness, collectibility, and the market at the time of evaluation.

Bring the Drawer. Bring the Box. Bring It All.

You are not expected to know what you have. That is our job.

What We Buy

  • Sterling silver flatware and serving pieces
  • Silver-plated flatware and hollowware
  • Forks, knives, spoons, ladles, and servers
  • Teapots, coffee pots, creamers, and sugar bowls
  • Trays, bowls, candlesticks, and decorative pieces
  • Complete sets, partial sets, and mismatched pieces
  • Tarnished, engraved, monogrammed, bent, or broken silver
  • Estate boxes, basement finds, and inherited collections

You Do Not Have to Prepare It

  • Do not polish it.Tarnish does not prevent us from identifying or testing silver.
  • Do not separate it.Sterling can be mixed into plated sets, and confusing marks are common.
  • Do not worry about condition.Broken, bent, single, or mismatched pieces may still have value.
  • Bring the storage box too.Cases, paperwork, and maker information can sometimes help us evaluate a set.

We Sort It. We Identify It. We Pay It Correctly.

Some buyers treat every mixed box as low-value silver plate. We do not. We go through the collection so sterling pieces are identified and valued separately.

  1. 1

    Bring Everything In

Boxes, bags, drawers, cases, partial sets, and loose pieces are welcome.

  2. 2

    We Examine the Pieces

We check hallmarks, maker marks, construction, weight, and other identifying details. When needed, we test the metal.

  3. 3

    We Separate Sterling from Plate

Sterling is valued separately because its silver content creates a major price difference.

  4. 4

    You Receive a Clear Offer

We explain what we found and make an offer. There is no obligation to sell.

Not sure whether it is sterling or plate? That is the best reason to bring it in.
